Obituary

E. Eugene "Gene" Johnson, 81, Hutchinson, died Sunday, August 16, 1998 at Hospice Residential Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born May 12, 1917 in Reno County, the son of Henry Antonius and Elsie Bell Hoskinson Johnson. He was a graduate from Burrton High School. A lifetime resident of Reno County, he was a farmer and stockmana before retiring. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, rural Burrton. On March 15, 1940 he married Ruth Cook in Reno County. She survives. Other survivors: son, Perry Johnson, Gadena, California; two daughters, Karen Fager and Susan Johnson, both of Hutchinson; brother, Carl Johnson, Burrton; sister, Veda Mae Paul, Hutchinson; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl Johnson. Graveside service was August 19 in the Burrton Cemetery, with the Rev. Roland Wolfe presiding. Memorials to Hospice.
