Catherine W (Schultz) Munger

Catherine W. Munger, 85, Halstead, died Saturday, December 5, 1998 at the Halstead Hospital. She was born October 13, 1913 at Halstead, the daughter of Henry M. and Augusta Agnes Willm Schulz. A lifelong resident of Halsted, she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell before retiring.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Halstead, American Legion at Halstead and Newton VFW Post 971, Rebekahs and Eagles Lodges, both of Newton, Telephone Pioneers of America, and the 40 & 8, Wichita. She was a
U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.

On April 23, 1960 she married Floyd J. Munger at Derby. He died February 18, 1989.

Survivors: brother, Jack Schultz, Chillicothe, Missouri and a sister, Helen Moots, Halstead. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Wendling.

Funeral is December 10 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the Rev. Dallas Curts presiding. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
