Obituary

William V. Metcalf, 76, Mt. Hope, died Tuesday, September 8, 1998 at Mt. Hope Hope Nursing Center. He was born July 14, 1922 at Lamar, Arkansas, the son of Oscar Luther and Bessie Sheeler Metcalf. A long time resident of Mt. Hope, he was the branch manager at the Patterson Farmer's Co-Op. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and VFW, all of Mt. Hope.

On May 5, 1952, he married Ernestine McMurry at Clarksville, Arkansas. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Beverly Metcalf, Newton, Lois Metcalf-Ruble, Hutchinson and Dana Chaffin, Mt. Hope; 3 grandchildren.

Funeral will be September 20 at the United Methodist Church in Mr. Hope with Pastor Bob Gleason presiding. Burial will be in Star Cemetery, rural Burrton.
