Obituary

Teddy Porter, 90, Halstead, died Monday, November 16, 1998 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born May 27, 1908 at Amarillo, Texas, the son of John L. and Sylvia Hamilton Porter. A resident of Halstead since 1974, moving from ElPaso, Texas, he was a retired carpenter and Southern Pacific Railroad worker.

On November 10, 1929 he married Ruth E. Adams at Almagordo, New Mexico. She died March 11, 1986.

Survivors: sons,, Donald Porter, Burrton; Stephen Porter, Halstead; and Ronald Porter, Mt. Hope; daughters, Shirley Drake, Newton; Sylvia Reed, Halstead and Ramona Hulberg, Andover, sister, Patsy Garland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 23 grandchiildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside service was November 18 at Halstead Cemetery with the Rev. Dallas Curts presiding.
