Obituary

Arthur Joe Pugh, 62, a Halstead resident since 1981 died Sunday, May 10, 1998 at the Halstead Hospital. He was born March 5, 1936 at Columbus, Kansas, the son of Alva B. and Vina Carrie "Bunnie" Atkinson Pugh. He was a self-employed carpenter and sub-contractor. He was a member of the Halstead Baptist Church.

He married Carolyn S. Palmer January 10, 1956 at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives: other survivors, four sons, Richard J. Pugh, Wichita; Dennis G. Pugh, Newton; Randolph G. Pugh, Newton; and Jeffery D. Pugh, Wichita; two daughters, Cynthia L. Ray, Halstead, and Charmine L. Marler, Wichita; two sisters, Leona Taylor, Columbus, and Esther Henderson, Weir, Kansas and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harold Pugh, William Pugh, and Albert Pugh and a sister, Dorothy Spencer.

Services will be May 14 at Kaufman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Ericksten, pastor of the Halsted Baptist Church, presiding. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
