Obituary

Helen Marie Vierthaler, 92, Burrton, died Monday, March 2, 1998 at her residence. She was born April 2, 1905 at rural Halstead, the daughter of John W. and Madeline Wendling Redinger. A lifelong area resident, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. She was an avid quilter, having completed over 800 quilts by hand in her lifetime.

On October 20, 1925 she married Frank J. Vierthaler at Halstead. He died February 15, 1982. Survivors: sons, Leland Vierthaler, Mt. Hope; Eugene Vierthaler, Haven; daughter, Louie Smith, Douglas; brother, Paul Redinger, Rising Star, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral was March 6 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with Father Ken Schuckman presiding. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
