Dr. Roy R. Weber, M.D.,51, Newton, an internal medicine specialist at the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead, died Friday, February 20, 1998 at Newton Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1946 at Independence, the son of Raymoond A. and Betty Jean Banning Weber. He was a 1965 graduate of Independence High School. He graduated from Independence Junior College, the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He served his postdoctorate research fellowship in clinical pharmacology at the University of Chicageo from 1985 to 1987. He had a private medical practice at Newton from 1976 to 1985 and worked at the Hertzler Clinic after 1987. He was board certified in internal medicine specializing in hypertension.
He belonged to First Mennonite Church, the Harvey County Medical Society, the Kansas Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and had been a preceptor at the KU School of Medicine since 1987.
On June 2, 1973, he married Connie Toews at Inman. She survives. Other survivors; son, Michael Thomas Weber, Newton; daughter, Sarah Louise Weber, Newton; parents, Independence and three sisters, Ragena Andres, Independence, Barbara Elliott, Atlanta and Jana Johnson, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral was Tueday, February 24 at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Revs. Clarence Rempel and Verney Unruh presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
