Obituary

A. J. "Moody" Armendariz, 76, Halstead, died Sunday, January 10, 1999 at his residence. He was born August 15, 1922 at Halstead, the son of Gavino and Esther Triana Armendariz. A lifelong resident of Halstead, he was a tool and die supervisor for Cessna Aircraft before retiring.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, the American Legion Post #2 and the Elks Lodge, both of Newton. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving during World War II.

Survivors: his companion, Carol Koehn, of the home; sons, Ruben Armendariz, Wichita and Mike Armendariz and Greg Armendariz, both of Halstead; daughters, Sandra Mendoza, Derby; Cindy Schmidt, Sedan, New Mexico; brother, Salvador Armendaria, Halstead; sister, Carmen Armendariz, Halstead; 11 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Rosary was Tuesday, Janury 12 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Funeral mass was Wednesday, January 13, also at the Church with Father James O'Shea presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
