Violet L. Eshelman, 78, Valley Center, former Burrton and Sedgwick resident and sister of Quentin L. Base, Sedgwick, died November 15, 1999 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton. She was born December 27, 1920 in Burrton, the daughter of Tobias A. and Selma L. (Schmidt) Base. She moved to Sedgwick from Burrton in 1936 and lived in the Sedgwick area until August 1998, when she and her husband moved to Valley Center. She was a housewife and her family was her main interest.

She married Raymond "Keith" Eshelman on March 28, 1942 at Pleasant Valley United Brewthren Church near Bentley.

Other survivors include her husband, of the home at 400 South Dexter, Valley Center; a son, Kenneth K. Eshelman, Driftwood, Texas; a sister, Letha M. Zaring, Newton; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be held at Sedgwick United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 18, conducted by the Rev. Don Wharton. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
