Obituary

Josephine Mae Eshom, 99, Topeka, formerly of Burrton, died Friday, October 1, 1999 at Rolling Hills Health Center, Topeka. She was born September 12, 1900 at Burrton, the daughter of John W. and Maude Leamon Stanley. A longtime Burrton resident, moving to Topeka in 1995, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to First Christian Church, the Olivetts of the Church and the Order of Eastern Star, all at Burrton.

On August 30, 1921, she married Charles Harold "Penny" Eshomm at Hutchinson. He preceded her in death.

Survivors: a son, Donald Eshom, Topeka; brother, Henry Harlen "Bill" Stanley, Hutchinson; two sisters, Florence Blair, Lyons and Eleanor Eicholtz, Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren and eight great grand-children.

Graveside service was Tuesday, October 5 at Burrton Cemetery with Pastor Mark Dixon presiding.
