Hobble, Lenora

Harvey County Independent

Lenora Hobble, 79, Sedgwick, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1919 at McPherson, the daughter of Gustav Adolphus and Emma Charlotte Anderson Olson. In 1937 whe graduated from McPherson High School, then graduated from Bethany College in 1941 with a bachelor of science degree in education. She was a former Sedgwick High School business teacher, a former principal and teacher at Norcatur High School, Norcatur, Kansas and a homemaker.

She was a member of Sedgwick United Methodist Church; Athena; and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, all at Sedgwick. She established and organized the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

On November 4, 1951 she married Rex E. Hobble at New Gottland, Kansas. He survives of the home.

Other survivors: daughter, Linda Hobble Fewell, Kansas City, Missouri and son, Jon H. Hobble, Lawrence; brother, Raymond Olson, McPherson; and one grandchild, Colin Fewell, Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral was Friday, February 12 at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Wharton presiding. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
