Percy Jack Parsons, 68, Perryton, Texas, former Halstead resident, died November 10. 1998 at his home. He was born April 24, 1930 at Pampa, Texas, the son of Percy Russell and Wilma Ernestine Dillman Parsons. In 1933, he moved with his family to Halstead. He started his education at South Garden School, located North of Halstead. After moving to town, he continued schooling at the Halstead Grade School and graduated from Halstead High School in 1948.
On Aril 30, 1953, he married Marjorie Janiece Graff, at Ellinwood, Kansas. She died November 2, 1987.
After living in several towns in Kansas and Texas, he moved back to Perryton in 1978. He retired in 1992 after 30 years as operations supervisor for Western Co. of Texas.
Soon after his retirement, he moved to Halstead to be near his mother. After her death in 1996, he returned to his home in Perryton.
Survivors include a son, Russell B. Parsons, Pampa, Texas; daughter, Linda Flaming, Perryton; two brothers, Robert D. Parsons, Victoria, Texas and Col. Russell L. Parsons (reg.), Marietta, Georgia; sister, Patricia J. Ream, Wichita; and six grandchildren.
Services were held November 13 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton , with the Rev. Marion Sparks, presiding. Burial was in Lakin Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood, Kansas
