Obituary

Vicxtor Purkey, 86, rural Valley Center, died Sunday, March 14, 1999 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He was born January 19, 1913 at Wichita; the son of Jerry and Vida Nichols Purkey. A long time resident of the rural Valley Center/Sedgwick area, he was a railroader with the Missouir Pacific before retiring.

On March 2, 1935, he married Juanita Purkey at Sedgwick. She survives. Other survivors: daughter, Vicky Purkey, Reno, Nevada and brother, Max Purkey, Wichita. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Albert Purkey, Wesley Purkey and Donald Purkey.

Funeral is March 18 at Sedgwick Christian Church, Sedgwick, with Pastor Kim Beckwith preiding. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.
