Obituary

Betty R. Shive, 76, Haven, formerly of Burrton, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born at Osborne, the daughter of Ted and Louise Watson Bomhoff. Before moving to Haven in 1991, she had been a resident of Burrton since 1951, moving from Long Beach, California. She was a homemaker.

She belonged to Congregional United Church of Christ in Haven, where she was member of The Mayflower Circle. She was also a member of the Haven Senior Center.

On July 11, 1940, she married Ernest Shive atYuma, Arizona. He died January 16, 1988.

Survivors: three sons, Delbert Shive, Burrton and Jim Shive and Craig Shive, both of Haven; three sisters, Marjie Morris, Escondido, California; Billie Bryant, Paradise, California; Cleo "Pat" Downing, Anchorage, Alaska; ten grandchildren and five great grandchidren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Shive and one grandson.

Funeral was Saturday, July at the Church in Haven with the Rev. Richard Brooks presiding. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery, Burrton.
