Clinesmith, Lois



Lois F. Clinesmith, 88, passed into eternal glory on December 8, 2011, from Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.

She was born April 29, 1923, at Newton, the daughter of Willie and Della Rutschman Roth. She attended BIOLA and later graduated with a Bachelors degree in English literature from Wheaton College. She became a missionary with GMU (Gospel Mission Unit), now known as AVANT. She was a teacher and later a homemaker.

On February 25, 1961, she was united in marriage to Richard Clinesmith in Tangier, Morocco. This union was blessed with two children: Mark and Sharon. She was a member of Swiss Church and active with the Swiss Missionary Circle.

Lois was preceded in death by her son Mark Clinesmith and a brother Wilbur Roth. She is lovingly survived by her husband Dick Clinesmith of Whitewater; a daughter Sharon and husband Daniel Canada of Spokane, Washington; granddaughter Stephanie Canada of Bellingham, Washington; and her brothers: Dean Roth of Woodstock, New Hampshire; Lynn Roth of Wamego; and Alan Roth of Wichita.

Visitation with family will be held Sunday, from 4 - 6 p.m., at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater. Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011, with the Committal Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Swiss Cemetery, and Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at the Swiss Church in Whitewater.
Memorials have been established for the Swiss Church Building Fund or for MMC (Malega Media Center - Ministry to Muslims), in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
