Obituary

August Unruh, 92, Hesston, formerly of Burrton, died Sunday, April 18, 1999 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. He was born May 19, 1906 at Karlswalde, Russia, the son of Ben and Eva Boese Unruh. A longtime Burrton resident, moving to Schowalter Villa in 1997, he was a retired farmer.

On August 4, 1926 he married Susie Becker at Burrton. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Margie Wells, Chanute and Janette Taylor, Wichita; sister, Ameliz Nightingale, Moundridge; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers; Tobias Unruh; John Unruh; Jacob Unruh; Henry Unruh; Adam Unruh; Andrew Unruh; David Unruh; Bernard Unruh and Fred Unruh; and six sisters, Helena Koehn; Susanna Unruh; Karolinna Cole; Elizabeteh Unruh; Anna Unruh and Nettie Unruh.

Funeral was Wednesday, April 21, at Kaufmana Funeral Home, Halstead with Linford Holdeman presiding. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
