Obituary

Malinda R. Veer, 71, Newton, sister to Aaron Smith of Burrton, died Sunday, January 10, 1999 at Newton Medical Center. She was born May 6,. 1927 at Ringwood, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ben and Carolyn Thomas Smith. She was retired from family training with the Society of International Ministries. She belonged to Newton Bible Church and the Society of International Ministries, Charlotte, North Carolina. On January 18 1955, she married Ted P. Veer at Newton. He survives. Other survivors: five sons, Philip Veer, Kansas City, Missouri; Mark Veer, Gary Veer, Kenneth Veer and Terry Veer, all of Newton; five brothers, John Smith, Colorado Springs, Colorado; LeRoy Smith, Walton; Ben Smith, Newton; Will Smith, Dinuba, California; Aaron Smith, Burrton and LaVern Smith, Meade; sister, Lois Flaming, South Haven, Michigan and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and two brothers, D. Frank Smith and D. Melvin Smith. Services were held Wednesday, January 13 at Newton Bible Church with the Rev. Donald A. Myuer presiding. Burial was in Restlawen Gardens of Memory, Newton, Kanas.
