Obituary

Wilma O. Unruh, 79, Halstead, died May 16, 1993 at her home. She was born October 12, 1913 at Greensburg, the daughter of William J. and Helena Unruh Unruh. A Halstead resident for 60 years, she was a 1943 Halstead School of Nursing graduate and a psychiatric nursing instructor at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Following her retirement from St. Josepuh, she worked as a part time librarian at the Halstead Public Library and made several trips to Africa on photographic safaris.

She was a member of the Kansas League for Nursing, the American League for Nursing, the Kansas Nursing Association; the American Nursing Association; Pi Lambda Theta Sorority and the American Association of University Women.

Survivors: brother, Victor Unruh, Lowell, Arkansas; sisters, Martha Unruh and Ethel Brewer, both of Nevada, Missouri; Elda Becker, Halstead; Luella Williamson, Detroit; Flora Smith, Bronzugh, Missouri; and Ruth Dyer, Benson, Arizona.

Services were held Wednessday, May 19 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the Rev. John H. Waltner presiding. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
