Johnson, Mabel

Harvey County Independent

Mabel Koehn Johnson, 86, former Halstead resident, died Saturday, January 22, 1994 at Halstead. She was born June 3, 1907 in McPherson County, the daughter of John H. and Ida Koehn Buller. A Moundridge resident, having lived at Greensburg and Halstead, she was a bookkeeper for a machine shop and worked as a salespderson in the auto parts department. She was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church at Halstead.

On January 8, 1928 she married Albert D. Koehn at the Lone Tree Mennonite Church. He died in 1969. On November 8, 1979, she married Irvin Johnson at Halstead. He survives.

Other survivors: two daughters, Alma Ruth Miller, Winfield and Dorothy Koehn, Solomon; four stepsons, Verle Johnson, Transylvania, Louisiana; Calvin Johnson, Sedgwick; Lynwood Johnson, Scott City and Galen Johnson, Uniontown, Alabama; two stepdaughters, Shirley Koehn, Uniontown, Alabama and Ladonna Hauder, Daykin, Nebraska; brother, Leo Buller, Moundridge; two sisters, Ruby Dirks, Scott City and Edna Koehn, Halstead; 12 grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren and 31 step great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, January 25 at Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead, with Kenneth Smith, Raleigh Koehn and Stanley Wiggers presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery at Halstead.
