Obituary

Ina Marguerite Gehbach Rate, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother passed away Wednesday August 3, 2011. She was born April 23, 1917 in Minburn, Iowa to Lela Mae Hunter Gehlbach and Herman Henry Gehlbach. Siblings who preceded her in death were Malcoln Gehlbach, Hunter Gehlbach and Phyllis Crandall.

In 1939 whe married Robert Goodwin Rate, M.D.. They were married for 40 years. He preceded her in death October 25, 1979.

She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1939 with a degree in journalism. That same spring, she married Robert Goodwin Rate. She is survived by her children; Selene Hunter, aka Nancy Anne Rate and her husband, Tom Yamamoto; Lyman Thair Rate and his wife, Jane; Robert Gehlbach Rate and his wife, Petty; Peggy Candace Rate and her husband, David McCurry; five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Homestead Assisted Living in Halstead August 9. Private burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa.
