Obituary

Maurita Jean Sooter, 83, formerly of Halstead, retired homemaker died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. She was born July 25, 1927 at Newton, the daughter of Harvey L. and Ruby Katheriine Hasler Hensley. She was a lifelong resident of Halstead prior to moving to Huntsville nine years ago to live with her daughter.

On March 24, 1951, she married Van Cleve L. "George" Sooter in Halstead. He preceded her in death October 6, 1992.

Survivors: sons; Eric (wife Hazel Dalton) Sooter, Palm Bay, Florida; Craig (Wife Brenda Baumann) Sooter, Halstead; daughter, Georjean Raetz, Huntsville, Alabama; nine grand children.

Services will be held April 2, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Halstead. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.
