Fundenberger, James David

James David Fundenberger, (David) 61, passed away February 18, 2011. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1949, in Newton. His parents were Dale John Fundenberger and Fernetta Elizaabeth Dodge Fundenberger.
He attended Sedgwick Schools, Hutchinson Commuity College and Western Bible College, Morrison, Colorado. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1975. He married Gay Ann Barnes in 1977. They had 3 sons. They divorced in 1991. Later he married Janice Allen. They also divorced.
Survivors: his mother, Fernetta, of Moundridge; sister, Rita (Pat) Kirkpatrick of Goessel and brother Leon in Topaka, sons Daniel (Kristen), Thornton, Colorado; Eric (Kellie), Aurora, Colorado and Nathan, Broomfield, Colorado. Also, one granddaughter, Cassidy, Aurora, Colorado. He had worked as a maintenance mechanic and a truck driver.
His love of the Lord was evident to everyone who knew hhim. He was able to serve as a missionary to servicemen in the Philippine Islands for a brief time, but he was a missionary to all those around him for most of his life. A celebration of his life was held February 20 with another service to be held at Sedgwick Methodist Church on July 17 withPastor Paul Stephens presiding.
His remains will be interred at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
