Anita Jean Bigger

Anita Jean Bigger, 74, Newton, former Halstead resident, died May 15, 2000 at the Bethesda Home in Goessel. She was born July 2, 1925 at rural Newton, the daughter of Francis John and Katherine Lavilla Meyer Chapple.

She attended Zion country school east of Halstead and Wichita Business Collegee She was employed at Midland Bank in Newton for 40 years.

On September 2, 1942, she married Roland B. Bigger at Sedgwick. He died Augut 5, 1981. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 971, the American Legion Auxilary, the 40 & 8 Club, the Lady Elks and the Secretary's Club, all of Newton and the Cooties, Derby.

Survivors: one brother, Ralph W. Chapple, Fountain, Colorado; two sisters, Margaret Feather, Wichita and Virginia Adams, Newton.

Services were Friday May 19 at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Dennis Clough. Burial was in Whitewater Cemetery, Whitewater.
