Brown, Merle D. Ph.D.

Merle D. Brown, Ph.D., 68, Sedgwick, died Friday, November 24, 2000 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He ws born August 3, 1931 at Wichita, the son of D. W. and Mary Bragg Brown.
He earned his doctorate from the Universtiy of Missouri. He worked for NCR as the project champion for the MODUS file server program. He was involved in the research development and marketing of the program. He was also instrumental in the start up of KWCH television in Kansas and served as chief engineer. He also owned a computer consulting firm, Creative Solutions, serving as a consultant on networks and system integration.
He was a U.S. veteran.
Survivors: father, D. W. Brown, Dexter and a cousin, James Du Four, Sedgwick. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Graveside Services will be Thursday, November 30, 2000 at Greenwood Cenetery in Newton with the Rev. C. Kent Rogers, Salem United Methodist Church presiding.
