Obituary

Richard E. "Dick" Dove, 84, father of R. Kent Dove, Sedgwick, died May 19, 2000 at Newton Medical Center. He was born January 10. 1916 at Holden, Missouri, son of Forrest Richard and Alice A. Goens Dove. He was a conductor and brakeman for Santa Fe Railroad for 34 years, retiring in 1975.

He belonged to First Baptist Church, where he was a 62 year member and served on the board of trustees, the National Assocition of Retired Veterans and Railway Employees and the UTU.

On May 1, 1937, he married Sarah Joan Kealiker at Oklahoma City. She survives. Other survivors: daughter, Karen A. Ash, Hutchinson; five grandchildren and six great grand children.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sondra Lee Dove and a brother, Ralph O. Dove.

Services were Tuesday, May 23 at First Baptist Church, Newton with the Rev. Alden Dick presiding. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
