Gail DuBois, 87, Newton, father of Leo DuBois, Sedgwick and brother of Marvin DuBois, Halstead, died April 4, 2000 at Newton Medical Center.
He was born September 21. 1912 in rural Walton, the son of Linton Garfield and Mary Evalie Glenn DuBois. he was a graduate of Walton High School. He had been a resident of rural Newton since 1937 and was a farmer.
He belonged to First Presbyterian Church at Newton and served as an elder and a deacon. He served on the Darlington Township Board and numerous other boards involving schools, agriculture and banking. He had received his 50 year pin from Newton Lodge 142, AF & AM.
On July 17, 1937, he married Barbara L. Prather in rural Newton. She survives. Other survivors: three sons, Paul and Glenn, Newton and LeRoy, Topeka, brother, Allen, Whitewater; eight grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Orville.
Services were Saturday, April 8 at First Presbyterian Church, Newton with the James W. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
