Obituary

Henry L. Fast, 94, Newton, father of Evelyn R. Schofield and Elisabeth J. Smith, Burrton, died Sunday, December 17, 2000 at Kidron Bethel Health Care, North Newton, Kansas.

He was born September 28, 1906 at Beach, North Dakota, son of John H. and Lean Schmidt Fast. He had been a Newton resident since 1985, moviing from Henderson, Nebraska. He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton.

On October 4, 1933, he married Anna R. Rempel at Henderson, Nebraska. She died June 2, 1991.

Other survivors: two sons, Darrell Fast, Ontario, Canada and Donald Fast, Newton; two sisters, Elsie Buller, Omaha Nebraska and Rosella Dirksen, Edgerton, Missouri; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah Faul, Marie Hein and Helen Wiebe; two infant siblings and granddaughter, Julie Scofield.

Memorial service will be December 21 at Bethel College Mennonite Church. A graveside Service will be in Greenwood cemetery in Newton.
