Obituary

Hellen M. Rupp, 88, Newton, died Monday, January 24, 2000 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. She was born November 11, 1911 at Moundridge, the daughter of Otto and Stella Haury Rupp.

She grew up on a farm near Moundridge and managed her own farmland. She was a retired school teacher, accountant and cashier. In 1935 she grduated from Bethel College with a bachelor of science degree in eeucation. She worked for the Ripley Hotel in Newton as a desk clerk, was a cafeteria cashier for Bethel Deaconess Hospital, was hostess and cashier at the Wichita Airport's Dobbs House Restauraant, worked at a Newton pancake house, and was a dietitian at Wesley Hospital in Wichita.

She was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church and a past member of West Zion Mennonite Church of Moundridge.

Survivors: breother, Carl Haury Rupp, Arvada, Colorado; six nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded iin death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Daniel Rupp.

Graveside Service will be Friday, January 28, at Halstead Cemetery with Pastor Steve Yoder presiding.
