Obituary

Peter D. Friesen, 88, Halstead, died Saturday, May 19, 2001 at his home. He was born September 20, 1912 at Sunny Slope, Alberta, Canada, the son of Gerhard and Anne Doerksen Friesen. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Sixth Avenue Church, Havre, Montana.

On October 18, 1831, he married Beatrice V. Garrett at Havre, Montana. She survives. Other survivors: two sons, James A. Friesen, Halstad and Harold W. Friesen, Mountain View, California; three sisters, Sarah Keithcart, Great Falls, Montana; Anna Madsen, Havre, Montana and Marie Evans, Augusta, Montana; foour grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Abe; George; David; Henry; John; Cornelius; Paul; and Jacob Friesen; and two sisters, Helen Friesen and Cornelia Friesen.

Services were May 26 at Kaufman Funeral H ome, with burial in the Halstad Cemetery.
