Obituary

Edith G. Gilbert, 70, Burrton, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at Riverside Hospital in Wichita. She was born June 30. 1930 at Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Francis Joseph and Hazel Flora Collins Smith.

She was a retired clerk from the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Burrton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both of Burrton.

On November 15, 1947 she married Marvin Maxwell Gilbert at Hays. He preceded her in death March 19, 1998.

Survivors: her mother, Hazel Dunlap, Boise, Idaho; son, Russell Gilbert, Albuquerque, New Mexico; two daughters, Sherry Craig, St. Louis, Missouri and Kelli D. Broce, Wichita; sister, Beverly Wilson, Boise, Idaho and six grandchildren. Her father also preceded her iin death.

Services were July 2, 2001 at Burrton Unite Methodist Church with burial in the Burrton, Kansas Cemetery.
