Don Howard Hobble

Don Howard Hobble, 75, Valley Center, 1943 graduate of Sedgwick High School, died Friday, July 13, 1991 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born October 30, 1925 on a farm north of Valley Center, the son of Howard and Cora Bissell Hobble. He lived his entire life in Sedgwick County.
He farmed with his dad for several years, then moved to Valley Center for a job as a mechanic with Caliendo Motor Co., the Ford dealer. In December of 1960 he began working for KG&E as a mechanic in the garage and later transferring to building maintenance where he eventually was promoted to service building maintenance foreman. He retired after 25 years of service.
On February 19, 1948 he married Oleve Mae Taylor at Wichita. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Valley Center and of the Valley Center Masonic Lodge. He was an active bowler with the Valley Players for over 20 years and had bowled in league play for over 40 years.
Survivors: brother, Rex Hobble, Sedgwick; two sisters, Nova Duncan, Valley Center and Avis Duncan, Manhattan; 5 nephews and 3 nieces.
Services were held July 18 at the Church in Valley Center. Burial was in Hillside Cenetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.
