Obituary

Maxine Muriel Jones, 79, Ottawa, former Halstead resident, died Friday, March 3, 2001 at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. She was born October 10, 1921 at Hutchinson, the daughter of William Mack and Estella Mae Raymond Huffman.

On October 31, 1953 she married Raymond Marion Jones at Wichita. He preceded her in death February 14, 1971.

She was a 1939 graduate of Burns High School and she attended Hutchinson Community College and Salt City Business College. She was a retired secretary for the Hertzler Clinic, Halstead. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors: son, Robert Charles Jones, Newton; three daughters, Sharon Smith, Wichita; Marianne Tedder and Lynn K. Mitchell, both of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Michael Jones and Roy Mitchell Jones.

Services were held March 6 at Kaufman Funeral Home with burial in Halstead Cermetery.
