Knauss, Christoopher Allen

Christopher Allen "Chris" Knauss, 490, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, former Halsted resident, died Monday, May 21, 2001 at his home. He was born Febuary 3, 1952 at Whittier, California, son of Clifford and Dixie Marley Knauss, Newton, They survive.

Chris graduated in 1970 from Halstead High School. He received an associates degree from Hutchinson Junior College in 1972, majoring in business administration. He continued his education at McPherson College and received his bachelors degree in business administration in 1974.

On June 19, 1971 he married Neldena "Dee" Farmer at Wichita. She survives of the home.

He was a sales representative with the Legg Company, Halstead, for 19 years and then worked for Love Box Company for 9 years. He moved his family to Owasso, Oklahoma in 1992 where he served as a deacon for the Owasso Church of Christ. After moving to Broken Bow in 1998 he attended the Broken Bow Church of Christ. Chris enjoyed his children and their activiities, especially their sporting events. He enjoyed traveling and working in his yard.

Other survivors: grandfather, Edgar O. Knauss, Newton; daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Craig Dunlavy, Newton; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Amber Knauss, Carrolton, Texas; four brothers, John S. Knauss, Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Jeff P. Knauss and Douglas E. Knauss, both of Houston, Texas and Chuck Knauss, Hesston; two granddauaghters and his mother and father-in-law, Nelda and Don Holman, Halstead.

Services were held May 24 at the Church of Christ, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Graveside services and interment in the Halstead Cemetery were held the same day at 3 :30 in the afternoon.
