Obituary

Leo Koehn, 85, resident of the Burrton/Halstead area for 59 years before moving to Moundridge in 1997, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at Moundridge Manor. He was born April 14, 1916 at Swalwell Alberta, Canada, son of Simon D. and Helen Unruh Koehn. He was a retired farmer.

He married Edna May Buller May 7, 1939 at Halstead.

He was a member of the Grace Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Halstead.

Survivors: wife of the home; four sons, Gary Koehn,Dalhart, Texas; Leroy Koehn, Halstead; Harold Koehn, Texline, Texas; and Charles Koehn, Sedan New Mexico; two daughters, Glenda Smith, Sedan New Mexico and Rita Jantz, New Plymouth, Idaho; brother, Elmer Koehn, Charlottesville, Virginia; three sisters, Joan Armendariz, Halstead; Julia Becker and Mary Koehn, both of Moundridge; 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Koehn, Sam Koehn, Ervin Kooehn and Walter Koehn; two sisters, Anna Becker and Elizabeth Jane Koehn; one grandson and one great grandson.

Services were November 9 at the Church. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
