Obituary

Charles F. Allen, 83, of 608 E. 4th, died early today in Bethel Deaconess Hospital.

Mr. Allen was born Nov. 26, 1885 in Sarcoxie, Mo. the son of James W. and Mary E. Allen and had lived in Newton most of his life. He was a retired machinist and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Allen's wife, Hope Ann, died Feb. 7, 1961.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Dr. Frances Allen of Newton and Mrs. Robert McNail of Decatur, Ill., 1 son, James H. of Newton; 1 sister, Mrs. Ethel Haws of Campbell, Calif, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis Dale will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home prior to services.
