Edward E. Lassley

Edward E. Lassley, 65,, North Newton, father of Nancy Homewood, Sedgwick, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph in Wichita. He was born November 28, 1935 at Burns, the son of John Newton and Nancy Smith Lassley. He worked as a mobile home manufacturer and also drove a schoolbus for the Newton school district. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton.

On June 18, 1963, he married Shirley Malck at Wichita. She survives. Other survivors: three sons, Edward Lassley, Jr., Severy; Jerry L. Lassley, ElDorado and Danny Lassley, Newton; and three other daughters, Christine Lassley, Wichita; Diane Montgomery and Linda Lanham, Newton; six brothers, Bob Lassley; John Lassley; Bill Lassley; Dave Lassley; Stanley Lassley and Frank Lassley; three sisters, Geneva Wilder, Marion; Sybil Wilder and Betty Barton; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steve Lassley and brother, Claude Lassley.

Services were held March 16 at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Newton.
