Obituary

Irene Veronica McGinn, Newton, former Sedgwick resident and sister of Kay Stanley, Sedgwick, died Monday, January 22, 2001 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton. She was the daughter of William John and Margaret Agnes O'Keefe McGinn and was born at Sedgwick.

She was a graduate of Emporia State University and received her Masters Degree from Columbia University of New York City. She was a retired teacher, teaching at Lowther Junior High, Emporia and 27 years at John Marshall Junior High, Wichita. She taught for 43 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton; a life member of the American Society of University Women and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.

Other survivors include two other sisters, Betty Jean Hanna, Newton and Lois Celine Miller, Kansas City, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Sam McGinn and sister, Florence Stites.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday at the Church. Services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, Janauary 26. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
