Roberta Hayden Miles

Roberta Hayden Miles, 86, Lenexa, Kansas, former Sedgwick resident, died Monday, October 22, 2001. She was born on Christmas Day, 1914, on a farm just outside of Sedgwick. She was the youngest of four children of Fred S. and Hazel Jefferies Hayden.

She moved to Kansas City in 1941 and lived on the Country Club Plaza. Her two children were born in Kansas City and she often took them to play on the grounds of the Nelson Gallery. She later lived in Merriam, Kansas and returned to Sedgwick in 1947 where she lived until 1990 when she returned to Kansas City.

She worked as an executive secretary in Wichita for over 15 years for an oilfield products division of Dressor Industries.

Survivors: two children, Dr. Barbara L. Bridges of Shawnee, Kansas and Jim Hayden Miles of Des Moines, Iowa, 5 grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be at a later date. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas.
