William V. Richardson

Harvey County Independent

William V. Richardson, 81, Wichita, Died Sunday October 21, 2001 at Andover Health Care Center. He was also known by his Ham radio call sign of WOLGH. He was born May 4, 1920 at Edson, Kansas, son of John E. and Bertha Butts Richardson. His parents later owned the Richardson Liquor Store in Halstead. He was an aeronautical engineer for Cessna Aircraft and had been a Wichita resident for 63 years.

He married Pat A. Hayes November 26, 1944 in Wichita. Survivors include his wife, son, Thomas Richardson, Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Susan Murphy, Des Moines, Iowa; two grandsons, Steve Hill, Des Moines and Matt Richardson, Indianapolis; 6 granddaaughters and 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside service was held October 25 at Halstead Cemetery conducted by Rev. James R. Bush. Memorials to American Diabetes Association.
