Obituary

John William McDowell, Jr., 61, a 23 year resident of Arlington, Texas, died Thursday, September 1, 1994. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and lived in Halstead, attending school there. He was a 1951 graduate of Halstead High School.

He was a retired Director of Research for Johnson and Johnson Medical, Inc. Most recently a Consultant for Johnson & Johnson and a part time Professor at Texas Wesleyan. Formerly worked for Allied Chemeical Corp. in Buffalo, New York and ElPaso Products in Odessaa.

A graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Indiana University with a PH.D in Chemistry.

Survivors: wife, Barbara McDowell, Arlington; son, John W. McDowell, III, Fort Worth; daughter, Diane Larson, Greenville, North Carolina and Karen List, Austin; mother, Candace S. McDowell, Halstead, Kansas; brothers, William McDowell, Florida; Curtis McDowell, Pennsylvania and Robert McDowell, Halstead; four randchildren.

Interment was in Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington, Texas.
