Henry Burt Burns, 79, Halstead, died June 25, 2002 at Galichia Heart Hospital, Wichita. He was born January 21, 1923 at Hugo, Oklahoma, son of John and Nevada Beatrice Harrison Burns. A resident of Halstead for the past nine years, he previously had lived in Wichita and Cheney. He was a retired machinist at Boeing Aircrafat in Wichita. He was a World War II Air Force Veteran. He attended the Halstead Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed reading, camping, fishing and hunting. After his wife's death, he took up golf and spent many enjoyable times at Wedgewood Golf Course, Halstead, where he was a member and where he played with the senior men's group every Thursday.
On July 5, 1942, he married Lola Mae Stoffer at Enid, Oklahoma. She died July 1, 1994.
Survivors: two sons, Ernest L. Burns, Wichita and Calvin L. Burns, Halstead; sister, Zela Hardwick, Weldon, California; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Burns and a sister, Ruby Yenzer.
Services were June 28 at the church conducted ty Rev. Dallas Curts; burial was in Halstead cemetery.
