Obituary

Hazel Frances Crowell, 80, Halsted, died Friday, April 5, 2002 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. She was born July 24, 1921 at Stone County, Missouri, daughter of Leondis Irl and Patra Devella Kerr Abbey.

She had lived in Halstead for 3 months, moving from Burrton, where she had lived for 25 years. She was a homemaker.

On May 13, 1940 she married Lewis Jay Crowell at Emporia. He preceded her in death August 8, 1985.

Survivors: brother, Earl Abbey, Burrton and sister, Bonnie Lee Rupp, Pueblo, Colorado. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucile Klinginsmith and Kathlene Louise Bishof.

Services were Monday, April 8 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstad. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
