Lancaster, Wanda L.

Harvey County Independent

Wanda L. Lancaster, 79, Sedgwick, died November 28, 2002 at her home. She was born May 8, 1923 at Hominy, Oklahoma, daughter of Henry L. and Sarah L. Kyger Kastl. She graduated from Severy, Kansas, High School and the Wichita Business College. She was the retired director of Sedgwick Housing Authority.

She married Fred Lancaster September 23, 1944 in Wichita. He died August 1978.

She was a member of the Plymoouth Congregational Church, Sedgwick; the Senior Citiens organization; Athena; Sedgwick American Legion Auxiliary and 40 & 8; the Retired Officer's Wife's Club and the Kansas Women's Day Club.

She was a seamstress and enjoyed flowers, gardening, animalls, new adventures, keeping up-to-date on the news and helping people.

Survivors: daughter, Karen Garman, Westminister, California; brother, Henry L. Kastl, Jr., Billings, Montana; sister, Pauline Rowland, Bartlesville, Oklahoma and half-sister, Peg Hawk, Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Marry Hufford.

Services were Decembe 4 at the Church with Rev. Craig Reynolds presiding. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.
