Lohmeyer, Carl W.

Harvey County Independent

Carl W. Lohmeyer, 86, Hesston, former Halsted resident died Thursday, Februry 7, 2002 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born November 7, 1915 at Halstead, son of William H. and Luella C. Stein Lohmeyer.

On August 21, 1964, he married Ora Irene Harris at Halstead. She preceded him in death on October 30, 1998.

A lifelong resident of Halstead until moving to Hesston in 1998, he was owner/operator of Loymeyer Oil and Lohmeyer Gambles Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #231. both of Halstead; Eks Lodge and VFW, Newton. He was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors; two sons, Bill Lohmeyer, Phoenix, Arizona and Art Lohmeyer, Denver, Colorado; two stepsons, James Mahan, Lae Havasu, Arizona and Phhilip Mahan, Deerfield; two step-daughters, Jan Allison, Mulvane and Cathy Harmes, Manhattan, brother, Clarence Lohmeyer, Girard; 11 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Services were at Kaufman Funeral Home February 11. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
