Obituary

Dorothy Lee Wright, 71, Sedgwick, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, Halstead. She was born May 23, 1931 at Horton, the daughter of G. H. and Muriel H. Carter Hudson.

She attended Highland Junior College, earned her bachelors of science degree from Wichita State University and her masters degree from Emporia State University. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching at Plains, Wichita and at Sedgwick for 30 years.

On November 23, 1955 she married Lawrence Wesley Wright in Wichita. He survives.

She was a member of the United Congretational Church of Christ, Buena Vista, Colorado and Plymouth Congregational Church, Sedgwick. She also belonged to Monarch Quilters and volunteered at the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, Buena Vista, Colorado.

Other survivors include two brothers, Bernard Hudson, Tempe, Arizona and Bill Hudson, Britt, Iowa and three sisters, Helen Ferin, Puyallup, Washington; Donna Kinnear and Linda Hudson, both of Horton. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Herbert Hudson and one sister, Joyce Irwin.

Memorial services were held Sunday, December 8, 2002 at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Sedgwick.
