Obituary

Michael Keith Jantz, 49, Halstead, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1954 at Halstead, son of Milton Kenneth and LaEva Mae Buller Jantz.

He was a 1972 graduate of Newtoon High School and a former conservation officer for the Alabama Wildlife Department. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and is a member of American Legion Post #231.

Survivors include a son, Joshua K. Jantz, Florence, Alabama; daughter, Beth Smith and husband, Michael, Florence, Alabama; his mother, LaEva Jantz, Halstead; brother, Vernon Jantz, Wichita; sister, Betty Jantz, Littleton, Colorado and grandson, Eric Smith, Florence, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Stanley Jantz and Terry Jantz.

Memorial services were held June 25 at Kaufman Funeral Home. A private committal prior to memorial service was held at Halstead Cemetery.
