Pankratz, Anna A.

Harvey County Independent

Anna A. Pankratz, 92, Newton, sister of Roy Auernheimer, Halstead, died November 6, 2003 at her home. She was born June 25, 1911 at Godoboe, [Gotebo] Oklahoma, daughter of Adolph and Clara Goebel Auernheimer.

She was a school teacher iin Haverhill for elementary school and was a junior choir director. She loved and cared greatly for her family, and enjoyed music, flowers, gardening and canning.

She married Gus A. Pankratz at Halstead in 1934. He survives of North Newton.

Survivors: daughter, Donna May Becker, Park City; son, Dulane Pankratz, Prairie Village; another brother, Walter Auernheimer, Derby; sister, Selma Auernheimer, Reedley, California; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Auernheimer; her mother, Clara (Goebel) Auernheimer; two brothers, Arthur Auernheimer and Jake Auernheimer and sister, Florence Gomez.

Services were held November 10 at First Mennonite Church, Newton, with Pastor Verney Unruh presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
