Christine A. Scott

Christine A. Scott, 82, Newton, mother of Dorothy Wilson of Bentley, died November 1, 2003 at Friendly Acres Retirement Copmmunity, Newton, after a sudden brief illness.
She was born May 24, 1921 at Winfield, daughter of Ross A. Pettit and Hazel B. Powers.

She was a Newton resident since 1951. She wa a past secretary to Judge Sam Sturm at the Harvey County Courthouse from 1958 to 1960. She belonged to the Eastern Star and was a past president and recent secretary for the American Legion Auxiliary. She was past president of United Methodist W omen and a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant.

On October 10, 1943, she married Robert H. Scott at Winfield. He survives.

Other survivors: two other daughters, Martha Serviss, Canton and Nancy Blankley, Newton and 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Grover, brother, Ross Pettit, Jr. two grandsons and a granddaughter.

Services were held at First United Methodist Church, Newton on November 8, Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
