Obituary

Claude Raymond Sherman, 81, rural Halsted, died September 11, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. He was born April 28, 1922 at Kansas City, the son of Otto and Rose Etta Bauer Sherman. He was a tool and die supervisor at Beech Aircraft, Wichita and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of 40 & 8, Newton and Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231, Halstead.

On Februry 12, 1985, he married Emogene Fuller Holzrichter at Center, Texas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors: son, Dan Sherman, Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Sheryl Davidson, Edmond, Oklahoma and Shana Hill, Wichita; three stepsons, Kenny Holzrichter, Charlotte, Iowa; Denny Holzrichter, Denver, Colorado and Kevin Holzrichter, Halstead; two brothers, Norma Sherman, Coldwater and Larry Sherman, Casper, Wyoming; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton Sherman and Clayton Sherman; three sisters, June Burt; Jean Harris and Barbara Koren.

Services were held at Kaufman Funeral Home September 15. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
