Obituary

Gladys A. Warner, 101, Newton, former Burrton and Halstead resident, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at Friendly Acres Nursing Center, Newton. She was born October 4, 1902 at Burrton, the daughter of Edward and Mary Ann "Molly" Wilson Grover.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Burrton Unified Methodist Church, Burrton. She worked at Embers Grill in Halstead in the late 1970's.

On April 12, 1925, she married Gerald B. Warner at Burrton. He preceded her in death on Maarch 13, 1977.

Survivors: a nephew, Bill Brown, Kansas City, Missouri; four nieces; Cloyce Stanley, Aiken, South Carolina; Joyce Brown Gassert, Los Angeles, California; Marilyn Crook, Garden City and Marjorie Grover, address unknown.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Grover, Harry Grover and Clarence "Ted Grover and two sisters, Jessie Meschke and Mina Brown.

Graveside services were held January 2, 2004 at Burrton Cemetery.
